Hi future family, my name is Enzo and I am 8 years young. I was brought into rescue under tragic circumstances for my humans, but that has not broken my spirit. I am still as bubbly, happy, and loving as ever!
I am a typical velcro Iggy and I just want to be near you all the time. I give kisses and wag my tail often when you reward me with your attention. I love to gently nudge you with my paw if you are enjoying a meal that I would also love to taste. Would you share a bite of your dinner with me?
I am a little nervous at first, but I do really well with at least one other confident dog to show me the norms of my new home. I haven’t been cat-tested but I do like to bark at some of the neighbor cats when I see them on the backyard wall of my foster home.
I do have some health stuff going on, but don’t we all? I acquired Valley Fever a few months ago and I will continue to be on medication for that until my bloodwork shows it has adequately cleared my system, but don’t worry, it’s not contagious, and my meds aren’t too expensive. The cough I had from my Valley Fever, unfortunately, caused me to get a collapsed trachea, which means I’ll always have a little bit of a cough when I get too excited to see you! But with some occasional medication, a calm household, and a bit of weight management, this condition can be managed. Did I mention that I have a little junk in the trunk? Maybe we can work on that together to help reduce my coughing!
I know I’m not perfect, but I do know how to love perfectly. If you are willing to overlook my imperfections, you’ll be magnificently rewarded with the most loving and loyal family member you’ve ever had!
If that sounds like a good deal to you, I’m ready to pack my bags and wiggle on over to your heart and home!
Want a companion that is out of this world?! Jett is your man (dog)! This sweet early senior (about 10 years old) still has many years ahead of him and is on his health journey. (Don't tell him, but he still has a few more pounds to lose!) The vet says he is doing great and has good muscle tone. He will have an enviable smile after his dental next month!
He can walk on a leash up to a mile although he needs some correcting when walking by other dogs and loves his daily sniffaris. His foster family has noticed he is a little protective- barking at other dogs through the back yard fence- but he’s great with other dogs in the house. He currently lives with two other IGs! He’s not a yapper but he will let you know when he wants attention by pawing at you- it might just melt your heart. Jett loves cuddling on the couch- perhaps more than you do!
Jett did not have experience with children when he came to his foster's house but LOVES his 5 year old human "brother". As long as kids show him respect, he is cautious but adoring.
